Talent Showcase!!!!

Michael and Amy were stars of the show tonight at the HMS Talent Showcase. It was a fundraiser for new uniforms. Michael was the MC for the evening and did a fabulous job announcing EVERY act in the show. Amy did a spectacular job with Good Morning Baltimore- even with technical difficulties. They were very impressive and totally stole the show.

Road Show Weekend!

We all had a great time at roadshows. Kristy did a great job organizing everything and the kids had so much fun. It is so nice to see all of their positive, fun, and creative energy! My favorite part was when I was walking around knocking on doors to let the groups know they were on deck to perform and I saw Matthew's group in a circle praying. I burst into tears! What a humbling experience seeing this group of teenagers praying that they will perform well and do their best. GREAT KIDS!

Valentine Dance

The fun thing about facebook is that other people can take pictures of events and you get to see them and post them on your blog. Here is Matthew in some of the pictures taken at the Stake Valentines Dance. I think they all had a blast!

DISTRICTS!

The kids had a very exciting weekend with District Choir. Matthew and Sarah started on Thursday night and then Amy and Michael joined them on Friday (all day) and again on Saturday. It ended Saturday afternoon with a fabulous concert. First Michael and Amy's choir sang, then Sarah's choir (9th and 10th grade girls) and ended with Matthew's choir (all boys and 11th and 12th grade girls). All of the choirs were fabulous and we enjoyed all of the songs. (Except maybe one of matthew's where it seemed like they were raising a demon spirit). We hosted District Choir last year and it is quite an undertaking. We were glad to be participants this year and just enjoy the show!! We are proud of our kids! They did a FABULOUS job.

Primary Activity

Tonight we had our big Quarterly Activity. We had a "Love One Another" activity. We had pizza, played a "Famous Couples" matching game, decorated cookies, made valentines, and played bingo. Poor Jake had to come to the church with me while I decorated. He was a trooper and just laid on the floor and watched Spongebob for 2 1/2 hours while I got things ready. Kristy was a big help and I think the kids had fun. I am exhausted tonight!

Sick Jacob

Jacob got off the bus today - asked for Burger King - drank his chocolate milk - did not touch his burger King and got sick. Poor thing. He has had a fever all day. How often do you see this picture?? He grabbed a blanket - curled up on the sofa and fell asleep at about 1:00. This was not the most convenient time to get sick - but I guess it never is. We hope he feels better tomorrow!

HMS Choir at Barnes and Noble

Michael and Amy's choir sang at Barnes and Noble to help raise money for new choir uniforms. They did a fabulous job and had so much fun. Their fundraiser is going on all weekend and they are excited to maybe get the chance to perform again. I may be biased - but Michael and Amy are definately the STARS!!!!

An emotional goodbye

Tonight my parents got set apart to serve their mission in Bogota Columbia. They had beautiful blessings and it was nice to be together as a family. We even Skyped Phil and it was fun to see him and his cute family. We are so proud of mom and dad and are excited for their wonderful adventure. We wish we could go along - it is always harder to be left behind. This experience will change our lives! We are proud to be a part of it. We love YOU!!!!
