Tortilla Factory Tradition

The Tortilla Factory is our families favorite dining spot. We truely have celebrated just about every major event in our families life for many, many years. Whenever anyone comes to town - we go to the Tortilla Factory - whenever anyone achieves anything noteworthy - we go to the Tortilla Factory. I always remember when my kids were little and they called it the Tortido Factory. It is only fitting that we shared our last meal out together for two years at our home away from home - The Tortilla Factory!

More Fun In The Snow!!!

We had fun on our teacher work day/snow day. The kids spent the afternoon sledding, shoveling, jumping and chilling! I FROZE!

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow (finally)

The kids were SOOOO thrilled that it finally snowed. Jacob (especially) loved the snow and being able to go sledding. We are expecting some more - we are anxiously awaiting the decision to close school for tomorrow. (I am not holding my breath!)

Things a mom wishes she did not know

Here are some pictures of Matthew on his teacher work day. He went with some friends and skated on a frozen (we hope) pond, climbed on top of an old slave house and then walked around Oakton to a friends house and ended up at a pizza place. Hmmmm.

More Cabaret!!

Here are a few other shots from Cabaret. :)

Cabaret

Here are some pictures from the big show. We had a lot of fun watching and participating in this. We are proud of Matthew. He did a fabulous job!!

Pictures from Cabaret are coming - but I thought this was a cute picture from the Winter Concert. It has both Matthew and Michael in it. They did a combined middle school/high school men's choir production of "You're A Mean One - Mr. Grinch". It was darling.

MLK Day - Brunch and Lacrosse

Matthew and Sarah went straight from our delicious brunch at Becky's to their friends house for some Lacrosse in the snow. (Check out the moves) They had a great time and stayed there late into the night. The rest of us went shopping at the mall, hung out at home and had fun watching what little snow we got. Jacob even made a snowball and saved it in the freezer. I think he is afraid that it is the only snow he will see.

Sunday Night - After dinner

Tonight after dinner we watched the Obama Inauguration Concert on HBO. We had a the best time! Note to the girls - do you see the sleeping girl in the background!?! So funny. The next couple of days will be quite exciting around here - that it for sure!

A visit from Santa

Jacob was very excited this year to see Santa. All he asked for was a Club Penguin game for DS. He was very happy on Christmas morning.

The Good Fight!

Becky had an interesting introduction to the new "bi-partisan" politics in Washington. You can tell by her face (and Grassley's) that it was not as it had been presented. I am sure there will be more to come. Keep fighting the fight Becky!!! We love you.

Cabaret is coming!

Next week is the High School Cabaret - more info to come.

Stacking Wood with Grandpa

One of Jacob's favorite activities is to go and help Grandpa stack the wood. They work hard and reward themselves by swinging on the swings around back.

ITHACAPPELLA

Tonight we went to a great concert at the High School. It was an all male acappella group from Ithaca College in New York. I was in charge of the luncheon for them at the school this afternoon and so it was fun to get to know them a bit. The concert was fabulous and we all (me, Matthew, Michael, and the Freemans) thought it was the best concert we have been to.

We love Broadway!

This summer we took Michael to New York for this 13th birthday. We went up for the day and saw Hairspray on Broadway. We had a great time and we are so glad we did it - esp. since we just learned that Hairspray has closed.

Day One!

It is mid-January and with my parents leaving for Bogota for 2 years - my resolution is to make sure they are kept up to date with our crazy lives. So - my first attempt is to start this blog. I am hoping this is only the first (and not the last) of my entries.
